Extinction Rebellion march and rally.

March from Bank to Trafalgar Square. 10 September 2020.

-

I have followed a number of the larger demonstrations in the capital from the environmental protest group Extinction Rebellion (XR) since they burst onto the scene in the Autumn of 2018. Due to the coronavirus lockdown there was no opportunity for the previous mass protest at Easter this year, but September saw activists plan a fortnight of protests, although this seemed to have been curtailed by a few days. A couple of incidents saw the group earn a harsh media backlash, particularly after a blockcade of printing works which stopped the distribution of millions of newspapers across the country (including mine!).

These images are a gallery of some of the photos I captured from XR protests in September 2020.
